🌡️ Temperature: A practical captive range is about 75–82°F (24–28°C). Stable warm conditions work well, while the spider’s deep burrow provides a more buffered microclimate below the surface.
💧 Humidity: Maintain a moisture gradient with the lower layers of the substrate consistently slightly moist while allowing some surface drying. Good cross-ventilation is important, and clean drinking water should always be available. Avoid stagnant, saturated conditions.

|
Babies / Slings: Provide a secure ventilated container filled generously with compactable substrate. Keep the lower substrate slightly moist and offer a starter burrow or partially buried cork retreat to encourage tunneling.
Juveniles: Increase substrate depth as the spider grows, providing enough compactable material for a substantial burrow. A partially buried cork starter retreat, water dish, and good cross-ventilation work especially well.
Adults: Provide a secure terrestrial/fossorial enclosure with roughly 6–10 in (15–25 cm) of deep compactable substrate, a starter retreat, water dish, and excellent ventilation for long-term burrow construction.

Offer appropriately sized crickets and suitable roaches such as Dubia, Red Runner, or Lobster roaches. Small slings can accept tiny live prey or portions of pre-killed prey, while juveniles and adults readily ambush proportionally larger invertebrates from their burrows.
Adjust portions and feeding frequency according to life stage, abdomen condition, and feeding response. Remove accessible uneaten prey and boluses carefully, and avoid disturbing established tunnels unnecessarily, especially when a molt may be approaching.
